The new 170-Series portables introduce a new Kenwood compact platform and a surplus of features complimentary to the new 160 Series mobiles and 160/180-Series portable releases.

The TK-2170 VHF 5W and TK-3170 UHF 4W portables with 128 Channels and priority scanning satisfies virtually all multi-channel needs. The 8-Character LCD and programmable keys facilitate custom user-friendly interfaces. The built-in voice inversion scrambler or an added encryption unit offer additional voice security. Staying true to Kenwood heritage, 170 Series portables deliver clear authoritative audio in a sub-compact platform.

The TK-3173 is a UHF Conventional and LTR Zone model in the same platform for subscriber or private radio systems. All models introduce a new compact lighter weight industrial design and an improved multi-functional LCD display.136---
